Heeeeey, so I'm still around. Surprised? You might be. Sorry for the long absence, but I've been relatively busy and not entirely unproductive in the last year, if that's any consolation.

I can't remember if I mentioned it, but I graduated college ('08) with my bachelor's degree in art. Which is obviously why I'm working retail at the local mall. However I was tapped for a children's illustration project by a small publisher and the book finally came out in September. I'm not crazy for the print quality of the books (my pictures lack definition and a lot of the colors are off), but I'm also known to be a bit persnickety. [link]

So there's that. Otherwise I've entered a few contests and... actually that's about it. That silly book was way more trouble than it should have been. I'd rather not hash out all the issues that cropped up, just take my word for it. In the midst of all that, my poor laptop started to really show its age. It's some 5 years old now and the 256 MB RAM along with the not-quite- 30 GB hard drive.... they were struggling. A lot. Death throws, you could say. It pulled through (only just) to get the book done, but I've semi-retired it now. I have a fancy HP Slimline Pavilion (far from the fanciest thing out there, but consider my previous computer and what a step up ANYTHING is). It came with Vista, which ate my face and tried really hard to break my spirit after also breaking my partition table and lots of other important things. I finally got it fixed up a few months ago and I'm slowly inserting myself back into the internet. Because it's so warm and safe here.

P.S. I'll be getting Windows 7 before long, I'm really glad they're doing that student discount thing.

And I think that's about it. I'm looking forward to get back to work on art for myself and hopefully I'll be posting more soon. ALSO, I'm going to get around to setting up prints for several of my images. Any requests?
